Welcome to web site about Malta Churches and Chapels The purpose of this site is to collect as much information about Maltese Churches and Chapel as possible. I have spent some time accumulating photographs of Churches and Chapels in Malta and have started to add drawings to the collection. The drawings have been generated using AutoCad from the digital photographs. They are therefore stored as vector drawings which can be loaded into AutoCad and modified. It is anticipated that the users of the site will take a critical view of the drawings and images and modify them if they feel confident that any modification is justified. If you have any comments, additions or corrections to this list please contact me Arthur Britch at alb@britch.com The core element of the site is the list of Churches and Chapels. There is a hyperlink from the home page shown as list of churches on the left hand side of this page. The headings of this list are as follows: image reference: being thumb nail print and hyperlink to a large photograph of the Church or Chapel ref: being a unique reference number chosen by date of image capture location: name of town or village page: page number of Malta A-Z compiled by J.G.Borg published by Interprint(Malta) Ltd 1977 section: section on the page of Malta A-Z containing the reference to the Church or Chapel x-y map co-ordinates and hyperlink to 1Km square section of the map (see below for definition) name name of Church or Chapel (if known) date: build date (if known) architect: name of architect (s) (if known) address: street address (if known) drawing reference: hyperlink to bitmap drawing of Church or Chapel (this image has been generated from a vector drawing .dwg (This AutoCad (format .dwg) drawing is available on request) txt If this tag is present there is a text description from sources as acknowledged together with the basic photographic image reference
Notes relating to the structure of the coding etc the main reference to the Churches and Chapels is a facetted code ref-x-y having the following significance ref is a unique reference to the Church or Chapel.
